To celebrate the launch of In The Jungle, a new Dave the Diver DLC coming out later this month, Dave the Diver is dropping into Fortnite. On June 25 at 8 PM ET, the Dave the Diver Outfit and Dave’s Oxygen Tank Back Bling will become available in Fortnite, either by purchasing directly from the Item Shop or as a “gift with purchase” for buying Dave the Diver or the Dave the Diver: In the Jungle Content Pack on the Epic Games Store. All of this was announced earlier today in a deep dive video posted by Mintrocket, showing that June is a big month for the franchise.
How To Get The Cosmetics
We gave you a little glimpse above about how you’d be able to get the Dave the Diver Outfit and Back Bling, but there’s some extra information to keep in mind. The simplest route for most players will be the Fortnite Item Shop, as both items will be available for purchase directly starting June 25th at 8 PM ET for 1,500 V-Bucks. The second route will be through direct purchase, as any purchase of Dave the Diver or the In The Jungle Content Pack on the Epic Games Store will grant you both the Outfit and Back Bling for free in Fortnite as a bonus. If you’ve been thinking about checking out Dave the Diver for a while and you’re willing to purchase it on the Epic Games Store, this might be the final nudge you needed to pick it up.
Do keep in mind, however, that this is an Epic Games Store benefit. Purchases of either Dave the Diver or the In The Jungle Content Pack on Steam, Xbox, or any other platform will not grant this bonus outfit and back bling, and you’ll still have to purchase it in the Item Shop. If you already own the cosmetics from the Item Shop and then buy the game on EGS afterward, you’ll receive 1,500 V-Bucks instead as a one-time grant. As usual, if you refund your Epic Games Store purchase of Dave the Diver or the DLC, you will lose out on the bonus you got (such as the Outfit and Back Bling or the 1,500 V-Buck grant), which will both be revoked from your account if such a refund occurs.
A Note on Shop Availability
The Item Shop availability dates feel slightly incorrect to us here at Lagback, as they’re listed as June 25th, 2026, through to June 25th, 2028. This is a full two-year window, a notably long run for a Fortnite Item Shop listing, as typically long-lasting offers such as this one would be a real money bundle, not a V-Bucks item. With most Fortnite cosmetics rotating in and out of the shop on much shorter cycles, I wouldn’t be shocked if this two-year end date was a placeholder that Epic Games didn’t intend for us to see. Either way, the phrasing is odd enough that it shouldn’t be taken as a guarantee that the cosmetics will literally be in the shop continuously for two years without cycling out. If you want them, don’t assume you have unlimited time.
About Dave the Diver
If this collaboration is your first introduction to the game, it’s one of my personal favorite games that have been released in the past few years. Dave the Diver launched in 2023 from MINTROCKET, a Nexon subsidiary, and has a well-done system: being a hybrid game where you spend your days diving the Blue Hole for fish and ingredients, then your nights running a sushi restaurant. At first, it sounded odd to me, as it sounds like two games stitched together, but somehow that combination works better than it would if either half was just a game on its own. Dave the Diver has also done crossovers with media like Godzilla and Like a Dragon before, and Bancho The Chef just had a new spinoff game announced at the last State of Play.
The In The Jungle DLC is available June 18th, a week before the Fortnite cosmetics release, and takes Dave away from the ocean and into a freshwater jungle biome with a new village, new NPCs, and around 10 hours of new story content.
