Fortnite Team Battles is Live With 5 Free Rewards!

Fortnite’s partnership with Baller League UK is going deeper. Back in March, Epic sponsored the match-worn shirts for Baller League UK’s third seasons, putting the Fortnite logo front and center on every team’s outfit. Now the collaboration is moving into the game itself, with the launch of Fortnite Team Battles, a community event running from today until May 10th at 11:59 PM ET that lets players pick a side, contribute to a real team’s standing, and earn free in-game rewards along the way.

For anyone unfamiliar: Baller League is a content-creator-led six-a-side football league founded by KSI that has been steadily building its profile over the past couple of years. The UK version features recognizable names from football and creator culture, and the Fortnite partnership has clearly been part of a wider push to grow the league’s reach into gaming audiences.

How it Works

To get started, head to fn.gg/teambattles and sign up. Just registering for the website with your Epic Games account will unlock the first reward instantly. From there, scroll down and pick which Baller League team you want to represent, which unlocks another reward and ties your in-game progress to that team’s leaderboard standing.

Points work on two tracks. For personal progression, you earn Badges through eliminations in Battle Royale with every two eliminations earning you one badge. For team contribution, you earn Rivalry Wins which go towards both the Global and team specific Fan Leaderboards, measuring how your chosen team is performing across all its supporters.

One thing worth noting: in-game stats refresh daily, so try to allow up to 24 hours after a match was completed for your progress to begin showing up on the website. Don’t panic if your eliminations or rivalry wins haven’t counted yet.

6 Badges (12 Eliminations)Baller League Spray
11 Badges (22 Eliminations)Unstoppable Emote (Granted May 14th)

The Unstoppable Emote is the headline reward here and the one most people are going to be grinding for. The 22 elimination requirement across the event window isn’t an insanely massive ask, only being roughly four or five solid matches depending on how you play. It does mean that you’ll need to actually put some time in to grab the reward instead of just signing up and forgetting about it, and can be seen as a slower burn for those who typically play Fortnite for the UEFN or non-battle focused experiences. As mentioned above, the emote itself won’t be granted until May 14th at the earliest even if you qualify for it, so don’t expect it to show up the moment you hit 11 badges earned.

It’s a fairly low-barrier free reward event by Fortnite, with the sign-up and team vote rewards requiring zero in-game effort. Whether you’re a Baller League fan or just here for the cosmetics, it’s worth taking two minutes to register before the window closes.
