Lucy and Rebecca from Cyberpunk Edgerunners Arrive in Wuthering Waves This June

The Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk: Edgerunners collaboration has been in the air since it was first teased back in April 2025, with me having thought that maybe it already happened and I just missed it due to how long it has truly been. Today, that has luckily changed, as a new 1.5-minute trailer dropped, confirming the collaboration launches in June 2026 alongside Version 3.4, with one of the characters actually being confirmed to be entirely free to claim!

Lucy, Rebecca, and David

The trailer opens with narration from Stan The Man, a Night City fixer who serves as the farming device for Edgerunners, delivered in the same style as his introductions in Cyberpunk 2077 itself. It’s a smart, creative choice that signals how much flair this crossover will have in Wuthering Waves, as they’re not just putting decals on bikes and calling it a day like they’ve done in previous partnerships recently, they’re developing the worlds together. The official Cyberpunk: Edgerunners account also chimed in with a message welcoming the characters to Solaris:

When it comes to the main characters we spotted in the trailer, here’s what you need to know, as well as any extra information, such as Rebecca being a free 5-star:

  • Rebecca (Free 5-Star): Confirmed to be available entirely for free. “The collaboration between Wuthering Waves and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is arriving soon, with the collaboration-exclusive 5-Star Resonator Rebecca free to claim!”
  • Lucy (5-Star Resonator): Available through gacha pulls, she is seen fighting with the Mono-Wire weapon from the Cyberpunk universe.
  • David Martinez (Cameo): Despite having an entire model, it appears that the trailer or potentially an in-game cameo is all we will be seeing of David, at least for now.

An Interesting Lore Setting

One detail in the trailer that landed very differently for fans is how the collaboration talks about the moon. If you’re a fan of Edgerunners, then you’re aware that Lucy always has a fascination with the moon; it’s one of the anime’s defining emotional motifs, and the trailer’s recurring moon imagery makes it clear that Kuro hasn’t ignored what made these characters resonate so well with fans.

Now, obviously, this storyline will take place within Solaris-3 rather than Night City itself, as the cast finds themselves in the Lahai-Roi region and around Startorch Academy. Rebecca and Lucy interact with the students and residents in Wuthering Waves’ existing world, creating a unique dynamic that contrasts interestingly between the more academic atmosphere of Startorch and the chaotic world Lucy and Rebecca are involved with daily. With Lahai-Roi’s storyline having wrapped up in Version 3.3 that recently released, it allows Version 3.4 to have a center stage focused entirely on the Edgerunners crossover in that area, while not having anything “too crazy” that might mess with actual in-game lore.

When To Expect It And What To Save

Based on the current patch schedule and information provided, it would appear that Version 3.4 is expected to land around June 10th, 2026. This would be after Hiyuki’s banner in 3.3 finishes and Denia’s subsequent banner runs its course. Due to this being around a month away, you’ll have a little bit of time to prepare any gacha currency you want for Lucy, and with Rebecca being a free reward, it’s a genuinely generous event that means anybody active during the event window will be able to get some long-lasting Cyberpunk goodies regardless of how good your luck is. Make sure to save up Astrite if you’re looking forward to grabbing both characters, and if you’re starting fresh, maybe keep the Astrites on you for a month, trying your best not to gamble them away just so you can get Lucy with ease.

For Edgerunner fans who haven’t touched Wuthering Waves yet, this is probably the most compelling reason tos tart playing, and with how the game won The Game Awards 2025 Player’s Voice award with a second anniversary having just kicked off, it’s not a bad time at all to jump into the chaos.
