With Forza Horizon 6 just a month out, Microsoft has decided to not just hype us up for the game, but also pull out some stunning limited-edition accessories to get you into the racing mood early. The lineup includes a wireless controller and a wireless headset all built around two themes: The game’s setting in Japan and the Horizon Festival theme.
Preorders are live now for the Controller and Headset on the Microsoft Store, with shipping starting May 19th, the same day the game launches. Broader retail availability begins on May 21st.
A Closer Look: The Controller
Xbox is calling this one of the most vibrant controllers they’ve ever released, and just from the first glance it’s not hard to see why. The top half of the shell is a beautifully translucent cyan blue that shifts into a metallic gradient towards the bottom. Overlayed on top is volt green, hot pink, and silver accents throughout. This controller is stated to have a battery life of up to 40 hours and while it’s not an Elite Series controller, it still manages to be a stunning collectors piece. The controller costs $89.99, which is around $24.99 more expensive than a standard controller, but can be seen to some as a reasonable markup for a limited edition drop.

A Closer Look: The Headset
The headset carries the same colorway, albeit a little less translucent then the controller. With a battery life of up to 20 hours, you’ll be able to immerse yourself in the driving action with Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos, and DTS Headphone:X built into the headset. It has a price tag of $134.99 which can be a hefty sum, but if you’re looking for a quality wireless headset themed around your favorite game, this might be for you.

A Closer Look: The Charging Dock
While not a center piece in what Microsoft has advertised, there actually is a third limited edition item that has released: The 8BitDo Charging Dock for Xbox Wireless Controllers – Forza Horizon 6 Limited Edition. This charging dock includes a 1100mAh rechargeable battery pack and battery door for Xbox Series X|S controllers. Described as being able to fully charge a controller in approximately 3 hours with built-in protection against overcharging and overheating, this is a nice addition to a fully Forza’d up collection!
